The Initiatives

The GREATER THAN campaign is our response to that calling. It’s about doing more than keeping up with growth, it’s about stepping into it with purpose.

PRIMARY GOAL 🎯

100% Engagement

We believe everyone has a next step, and in this season, we’re trusting God to lead each of us forward. Whether it’s growing in generosity, deepening your faith, or stepping into a new way of serving, our prayer is simple:

That God would open our hearts and empower us to become who He’s called us to be, and do what He’s called us to do.

This is about full surrender, bold obedience, and everyday discipleship together.

FAQs

  • What is the Greater Than campaign?

The Greater Than campaign is a two-year spiritual and financial journey to help Foundations Church respond to unprecedented growth in Northern Colorado. It’s our response to the calling to bring the extraordinary life of Jesus to a lost and broken world.

This campaign focuses on three core initiatives:

    1. Update the Loveland Campus
    2. Secure a permanent home for the Windsor Campus
    3. Prepare to launch future campuses

More than anything, it's about expanding our reach — and our faith.

  • What is the financial goal of the campaign?

Our two-year goal is $22.6 Million, which includes:

    • $12 million for regular ministry operations
    • $10.6 million for Greater Than vision initiatives (buildings, upgrades, future growth)

We're using a One Fund model — meaning every dollar given during the campaign period counts toward this unified vision.

  • Why are we doing this now?

Northern Colorado is growing rapidly. Over 501,000 people in our region are unchurched. Both of our campuses are at or near capacity — especially in kids ministry.

Now is the time to act — not just to keep up, but to step forward in faith and prepare for what’s ahead.

  • Why do we need more space for kids and students?

We are out of space at both campuses.

    • In Loveland, classrooms are maxed out, and the west side of the building needs renovation to serve our growing next-gen ministries.
    • In Windsor, we’ve run out of room to serve the families already attending.

We want to create environments that are safe, fun, and spiritually vibrant — where kids can meet Jesus every week. Some of the lobby area will be reallocated to kids, and the nursery will move into a more secure, lockable area. These adjustments prioritize kids' space and safety while also addressing building flow.

  • What is a One Fund campaign?

A One Fund means everything counts:

    • Regular giving
    • Increased generosity
    • Special gifts and assets

Rather than separating “building fund” and “general fund,” we are going all in together for a unified purpose.

  • What is the 10% commitment all about?

From the very beginning of Foundations Church, 10% of every dollar given has been set aside for local and global missions and outreach. That commitment continues through the Greater Than campaign.

That means 10% of all gifts will be invested outside our walls to:

    • Support mission partners
    • Resource nonprofits
    • Serve tangible needs in our community and beyond

This campaign is not just about building facilities — it’s about blessing people.

  • How will we finance this? Can we afford it?

Yes — and it’s actually a more strategic setup than our current model.

    Current monthly payments:

    • Loveland mortgage: $43,000/month
    • Windsor lease: $24,000/month (and increasing yearly)
    • Total: $67,000/month

    Future plan:

    • We plan to pay off our current Loveland mortgage by January 2027
    • We will contribute $6 million upfront from the campaign
    • We will take out a $9 million loan at 7% interest
    • New monthly loan payment: ~$64,000/month, about the same as our current payments

By transitioning from leasing to owning and consolidating debt, we build equity and long-term financial sustainability.

  • What’s the plan for the Loveland Campus?

We’ll renovate and enhance the Loveland campus by:

    • Expanding kids ministry spaces (new classrooms + play area)
    • Redesigning the lobby to better connect with kids check-in
    • Creating outdoor community space and café/lounge area
    • Refreshing the auditorium (LED wall, lighting, new seating)
    • Completing the east lobby and west patio renovations
  • Why does Windsor need a permanent home?

We currently lease space in Windsor for over $24,000/month — and the building wasn’t designed for long term ministry.

We’ve now secured 9 acres of land from a generous donor in a highly strategic location and will build:

    • A 750-seat auditorium
    • A dedicated kids ministry area
    • Spacious lobbies, parking, and outdoor gathering space
    • A facility that can be a community hub along the Poudre Valley Trail

This is not just a building project — it’s a spiritual investment in Windsor’s future.

  • What about a future campus?

We believe the next step in our multisite vision is coming soon — and we want to be ready.

    This campaign helps fund:

    • Staffing and planning
    • Facility preparation
    • Outreach and community engagement in new regions

Future campuses won’t just help us reach more people — they’ll also help relieve pressure as our main campus approaches capacity.

  • What is Advanced Commitment Night?

October 26, 2025 will be a powerful night of vision, worship, and first steps of generosity. It’s when our staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders go first — committing their support before the public phase begins.

This is not a high-pressure moment — it’s a celebration and leadership statement: "We believe in this."

If you're a leader or serve at Foundations, this night is for you.

  • What is the Commitment Card and how will it be used?

The Commitment Card helps you prayerfully express your two-year giving plan. It includes:

    • Your current annual giving (even if $0)
    • Your expanded generosity during the campaign
    • Any special gifts (stocks, assets, savings, etc.)
    • Your total two-year commitment

You’ll submit it during Commitment Weekend (Nov 8–9) or Advanced Commitment Night (Oct 26).

Commitment data will be kept secure and used to help us track progress. Donors will receive occasional updates showing how they’re doing toward their pledge to help keep them on track — always encouraging, never pushy.

  • What happens if we don’t raise the full $10.6 million?

We’ll move forward with the most essential parts of the plan and adjust timelines and scopes as needed.

    • The initial Loveland improvements in the kids area is fully funded and will proceed
    • Windsor campus can launch with about $6 million in commitments
    • Third campus and other features (like patios or lobby expansions) will depend on available funds

We’ll follow James 4:15: “If it is the Lord’s will, we will do this or that.”

  • How can I participate?
    1. Pray — Ask God what He wants to do through you
    2. Plan — Consider your resources, lifestyle, and stretch potential
    3. Commit — Fill out your card during Commitment Weekend
    4. Give — Begin giving toward your commitment

Our goal is 100% participation — not equal giving, but equal sacrifice and faith.

  • What if I’ve never given before?

You’re not behind — you’re right on time.

This is the perfect opportunity to take a first step in faith and generosity. Even a small monthly commitment over two years can make a huge difference.

  • Can I give non-cash gifts (stocks, assets, crypto, etc.)?

Yes! Giving non-cash assets can be one of the most strategic and impactful ways to contribute to the Greater Than campaign. We accept:

    • Stocks
    • Business interests
    • Real estate
    • Cryptocurrency
    • Retirement distributions

    Why consider giving this way?

    • Maximize your impact: Donating appreciated assets like stock allows you to give more than you could from cash alone.
    • Avoid capital gains taxes: By donating the asset directly, you can often eliminate capital gains taxes, which means your gift goes further.
    • Receive a charitable tax deduction: In many cases, you can deduct the full fair market value of the asset.
    • Reduce future tax burdens: For retirees, qualified charitable distributions from IRAs can count toward required minimum distributions and reduce taxable income.

Non-cash giving can unlock generosity that feels wise, faithful, and financially sound. It's a win-win: you may receive a greater tax benefit, and the church receives a larger gift to advance the mission.

  • Can I adjust my commitment if life changes?

Absolutely. If your financial situation changes, you can increase, decrease, or pause your giving at any time. Your commitment is between you and God.

  • Is this just about buildings?

Not at all. Buildings are only tools — the mission is about people, not property.

    This campaign is about:

    • The over 500,000 people in our region who don’t yet know the hope of Jesus
    • Creating space for the next generation to grow in their faith and encounter God
    • Equipping leaders who will carry the gospel into their workplaces, homes, and communities
    • Restoring families and marriages through the healing power of Christ
    • Positioning the church to move with agility, expand with purpose, and reach future communities
    • Leaving a legacy of faith, generosity, and transformation for those who come after us
